What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We need to know the event date, location, start time and a brief explanation of the type of event. If your looking for a wedding photographer it's good to know if you want coverage from bridal preparation to first dance or just the ceremony to speeches for example. It's also good to know if you are interested in just digital files or if you would like a photobook.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are many "photographers" who are not full-time professional photographers. Ask if your photographer is a full-time professional and about what experience and qualifications they have. Ask to see samples of work and reviews or testimonials from clients.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started Steve Phillips Photography after working for over 30 years as a press photographer and Picture editor on regional newspapers. the newspaper industry came to an end so I set up a freelance photography business covering corporate events, sport, events weddings and business photography. I have now been freelancing for 7 years and in my career I have photographed The Royals, major news events, premiership football, International football and rugby including a world cup final and grand slams - even Nelson Mandela I'm delighted to say. I have travelled all over the world and work in a very efficient, unobtrusive and professional manner being able to deliver images and video immediately on-site if needed.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have photographed many weddings, corporate events and provided lots of photo booths through Add to Event. It is a very easy and cost-effective platform to use. I recently photographed a wedding on the West Wales coast in the most beautiful location. We could see seals as I photographed the bride and groom on the cliff top. The photographs were fantastic given the beautiful location and the bride and groom were very happy with the results. I have used Add to Event for around 7 years now and the platform is still growing, I'm happy to do all I can to promote it.
