Based in Wigan in Lancashire, Stonebakers provide wood fire pizzas from their mobile pizza van. They cater for weddings and all kinds of parties/events throughout the North West of England.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We really need as much detail as you can give to ensure your guests have the best experience we can offer. Firstly, there is the basic information such as: date and time serving from/till, expected number of guests and the full address of the venue. Then we would like access details to the event, is the pitch level, are we on a grassy area and do we have access to an electricity socket? Finally we would like to know about your guests dietary requirements, are there any guests with allergens that we need to be aware of? Any guests require Gluten Free, or are Vegan/Vegetarian?

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Just be truthful, if it's a public event and it's the first time it's being held, please be realistic with expected footfall numbers. If it's a private event please give as much information up-front as possible. We operate by providing the pizzas buffet style as well as cooked to order and we also have a large wood fired oven that can fit 3-4 pizzas at a time. Therefore, we can supply a pizza roughly one every minute. This means your guests have a much more enjoyable experience and can get back to the party rather than stand for long periods in the queue for one full pizza.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We both have a serious passion for good food and we also enjoy it when hosts give us our incredible feedback. Whilst we only have two reviews on Add to Event, both are very positive; we also have reviews on our website and other social media pages. In addition to the mobile business, we are extremely passionate regarding education and one of our future goals will revolve around the education of life skills to young children to promote healthy living.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have catered a small number of Add to Event parties, all of which have been very successful. Two of which stick in our minds were quite small events, the first was arranged and catered for in a short space of time. We parked our trailer on the drive and brought pizzas through to the back garden, which was a very enjoyable and relaxing evening. The other event, was at a large house with around 80 guests all of which had a great time and the feedback was tremendous. We even cooked off a dozen pizzas in boxes just before we left so they could eat into the night if they so wished. The host of this party was so impressed that we have recently been contacted directly to cater again for him in a few months time - happy days! We currently have more than half a dozen parties lined up with Add to Event so expect more reviews in the future!
