Vin Van Voom
Vin Van Voom is a fully mobile wine bar providing a large selection of local and international wines from independent, family-owned vineyards to events in Greater Manchester and beyond. Served from a unique, customised 1950s-America style trailer, their expert staff provide knowledge and advice as well as the usual charm and smiles one would expect.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Ideally we prefer to talk with the customer to ensure we develop a quote which meets their expectations. As a minimum we need to know a start date, location, number of guests, type of event, operating times, access to the event venue, private or public event, need for a TENs and if we will access to power.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Seek information from them detailing their products and service capability i.e where their products are sourced, are they environmentally friendly, what is their carbon footprint, what volume of attendees can they serve, do they provide samples and explain the differences between the products on offer?
Would the provider include guarantees on their ability to meet the customers needs? Will the provider issue a contract and can the contract be amended to reflect the nature of the customers event?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We found the majority of events do not see an advantage in themselves investing in upwards of £50K on quality wines and fizz but do see value in ourselves becoming a ''partner'' as this way both the event and its customers benefit. Yes, we see a place for single serve PET bottles of, say, Echo Falls but by offering customers the opportunity to choose good wine, served in recycled / reusable plastic glasses is something which events (in our experience) benefit from.
And we don't do anything else except wine and fizz, so again our experience tells us we compliment bars, not drive trade away.
And yes, we have a real love for wine (our wines are award winners and sourced from small independent vineyards around the world) & we're excited to share our passion with the customer - we happily chat and explain the wines we sell and happy to provide samples so the customer always leaves with a drink they love......and we achieve all this without compromising serving. Just like our customers we don't like waiting either!
We work all of the events ourselves to ensure that our customer service is always at its best and there is definitely service with a smile.
We truly believe we can offer a fantastic service where there is often a huge gap.
