Lytham Fizz are a husband and wife team, bringing their mobile bars to the masses in Lancashire. They offer a range of different services from Ape 50 prosecco van, including mocktails and a funky tiki bar. Here, tell us how they quit their jobs and to start their dream mobile bar business.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote for a client, we require the event date so we can check our availability, along with an idea of what they would like us to provide. For example 'The prosecco van with one drink per head' or 'Fully stocked 4-meter bar operating as a cash bar with one welcome drink'. This allows us to put together a more precise quote for our client, check the availability of all of our equipment and staff, and put together the best personal package for the client and their guests.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
We would recommend our client asks us or any other providers about the services and equipment they offer. I also recommend they view websites, social media and pictures, this way they have a very good overview of the provider. We offer bespoke cocktail and mocktail menus for all of our customers, we can create a fantastic range of cocktails, just from the client telling us their favourite flavours.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Lytham Fizz was actually created in 2015 when myself, Izzy, and my now -husband Tim were married in Italy. We had dreamt up a way to use the little Ape 50 vans you see around Italy. However at the time we didn't put the plan into motion. Unfortunately Tim became very ill and this caused us to really change our lives and the way we worked. So we quit our jobs, bought the Ape 50 from Italy, designed the conversion and began work on it. We then built the mobile bars, hired staff and got to work, and the rest is history! We absolutely love what we do, and even better - the business has allowed Tim to find a new lease of health.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
The enquiries and the bookings through Add To Event have been fantastic, the platform is wonderful and allows customers to have a wide choice. We have so many direct enquiries, but we have found the enquiries coming through Add to Event have been more informative to begin with. Any jobs that we haven't been available for, we have been able to recommend them to our friends in a similar industry.
