What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need to know the estimated number of guests to be catered for as we operate four different sizes of refrigerated trailer and we will recommend the most suitable based on your party size. As we provide a full delivery and collection service, we also need to know the postcode of the event to enable us to include delivery and collection costs in our fully comprehensive quotation. Finally, the all important date and period required enables us to check availability of stock and also cross check against any special offers or promotions that may be running at that time - don't be afraid to ask for delivery a day early or collection a day later as very often the additional cost is minimal and doing so may ease the pressure at your end!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The most important factor to ascertain is the quality of the trailer to be provided. For example, can the supplier guarantee that the trailer provided will be less than two years old? It is also vital to know that the trailer can be powered by either a generator or a standard 13a power supply and that all required cables and adapters will be provided for this purpose. Price is important but quality and functionality are vital.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The founders of IceBox operated an asset rental company and we were approached by an existing client to provide a refrigerated trailer for a specific event. We sourced from a firm local to the event and were shocked at the poor quality of the trailer provided. We set about developing a dedicated supplier of mobile refrigeration units where quality of trailer and quality of service are delivered as standard. IceBox Rental was born!

We source our trailers from leading manufacturers and retain them on fleet for a maximum of two years. Each trailer is thoroughly checked and cleaned after each rental. Our fleet and branch network is growing rapidly and our delivery and collection service extends nationwide.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been and remains an important source of business for IceBox. We are fortunate to have been chosen for many events and outdoor functions via the platform but one that always remains in our collective memory is being chosen to supply refrigerated trailers for a wedding where the bride herself was organising the entire event. The close working relationship that ensued resulted in us being invited as guests to the wedding itself and making a wonderful new friend! Who says that it must be all about work?
