Singers in Buckinghamshire

Anna Nightingale provides singing and live music in and around Buckinghamshire. She covers events of any size from birthday parties to corporate meets to weddings and large events. Though she specialises in vintage, 30s -50s era music, Anna Nightingale can perform cult classics and modern songs as requested. All equipment is provided so all the client has to do is make the booking and enjoy the music.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To give you a real idea of price for your event, I would need the date and time, as well as the amount of time you need the music for, including breaks. Also important is the type of event you are planning, and if it's formal or informal - the "feel/atmosphere" you want to create, particularly as I offer Vintage Style music, so this is important. If you have any favourite songs, or artist that you would like included in the set list, I can then make sure that the music suits the mood, and make sure that you get exactly what you need from me.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Get to know your performer, and find out about them from others - i.e. read their reviews. Most
performers will have reviews in their profile, and on their website. If not, then maybe some alarm bells should ring. Speak with the person, and ask them their opinion if you're not sure about something, as many performers will have lots of experience in similar situations, and may offer solutions or ideas that you may not have thought of.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have always been a singer and love my job. It's my pleasure to make an event extra-special, adding
that personal touch that a disco just can't do. Whether it's playing with the band, or as a solo, or duo
act, the music is often the best way to create the atmosphere and mood of the event, and can be
used to bring people together, get them involved, take them on a journey and provide marvellous
memories. It absolutely makes my day when I get a thank you card from a delighted client who has booked me.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have sung at many many parties and weddings, but the one that stands out for me is the "Farmyard
and Fairy" themed wedding. The guests were sitting on bales of hay, the tables were decorated with
fairy lights and barnyard animal cut outs, and I lead them all in singing "Old Macdonald's Farm" at
the beginning of the evening, which was a private joke between the Bride and Groom apparently!!
The rest of the evening was Swing and big band style music, with their personal choice of their 1st dance as "How long will I love you?" by Ellie Goulding. It was a magical event.
