What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To give an accurate quote, I would need to know the start time and end time, location, venue and any specific needs such as 'must play lots of reggae music'. The information is just as much to make sure that I am the right DJ for you as it is for me to quote a price.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When booking a DJ, I would wherever possible try and book someone who you like as a person. I would also suggest the focus should be on value rather than price. A £100 photographer or DJ may seem good value, until you get the photos or their equipment fails. Saying that, just because someone is more expensive doesn't mean they are better. Research them, Google them, search for them on social media and ask them questions.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started DJ'ing in 1999 for fun at work, covering the decks when the venue DJ's needed a break. From there, I got my own slots, DJ'd for friends at parties and moved on from there. I love music and love the buzz of a dance floor screaming with delight when they hear a song they love.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I've only been with Add to Event for one week and have two gigs. But, as of yet, I have not played at any of those as they are in the future.
