What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a comprehensive quote, ideally, I need to know the date of the event, an explanation of what the event is, which part of the event I will be performing during, how long roughly you would like me to perform, the potential venue, and whether the event is indoors and outdoors. With this information, I will be able to give you an accurate quote based on the packages I offer!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The key, I believe, to finding the perfect musical entertainment for your event is knowing what you want to hear, and when during the event you would like them to perform. If you know you want to dance the night away to Soul and Motown classics, then look at bands, and solo singers, rather then acoustic guitarists, or instrumentalists. However, if you're looking for music for your wedding ceremony, possibly look at solo musicians, acoustic duos, or pianists. When enquiring make sure to mention when during your event you would like them to perform, prices will vary depending on if you'd like a performance of just your first dance, or if you'd like them to perform throughout your entire evening reception. Reviews are key to finding an act that is experienced, and it'll give you a feel for what they offer and what events they perform at the most. Finally, make sure to ask if you can see their repertoire before you choose to book them, you want to make sure you're getting the music you absolutely love!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have always loved to sing and perform, and I'm an absolute sucker for weddings! I used to work in hospitality, aiding in the running of weddings, and I realized I loved being part of somebody's special day, helping them make a magical memory. My focus is on ensuring my clients have a fantastic day, and that my musical accompaniment adds to the atmosphere. There is nothing better than seeing family and friends packing out a dancefloor, and celebrating a day together!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

One of my favourite bookings through this platform was a surprise 60th birthday party, in a lovely little pub in Derby! The birthday girl was thoroughly surprised, and everybody in the room came together to have a fantastic evening, with plenty of dancing and singing. All the reviews were fantastic, and I booked another event for the same family too. I was even given a bunch of flowers from the organiser after everybody had left, which was amazing!
