What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to provide a comprehensive quote, it is useful to know what type of event it is. Along with this, I need to know the timings and any specific requests or structure to the event. Would they require me to DJ for them alongside my live sets and what styles or artists would they prefer to hear. I would also be looking to know the exact venue address and area in which I would be setting up.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask about events the singer has performed at previously and to explain what they normally provide for similar events. Be clear about what you need from them, in terms of musical style and the area they will be performing in.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started performing as a solo singer and guitarist as I enjoy performing my own versions of other peoples' tracks and the reaction I get from crowds at events. I have always performed in bands as a drummer, bass player and guitarist over the years, and decided that I would also like to do this on my own.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My favourite booking I have had from Add to Event, was for a birthday party in Blackpool. This was quite a trek for me on my own from Thirsk in North Yorkshire, but well worth the travelling. The host and client was brilliant to perform for, and his family and friends were very appreciative of my efforts to learn quite a few special requests, which I performed acoustically. Having not had much time to learn them, I was happy to find that he enjoyed my covers of his requested artists. He was kind enough to leave me a super review, which can be read on my profile. An excellent night and experience for me to look back on.
