What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For an accurate quote, please provide the following information: The time and date of your event. The amount of hours you would like the booking for and an estimate of how many guests you would like to be painted. Please provide the venue location.
I offer face paint, festival glitter art, glitter tattoos, transfer tattoos and body art, so please specify the service that you would like. A combination of services is available.
I produce bespoke designed stencils to suit desired party themes and for business promotion as an add-on to any of the services provided for an extra cost.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

To provide a face paint and glitter service your face painter should be aware of health and safety and adhere to a strict hygienic practice. For example, I use clean sponges for each person and use a vegan organic brush wash for my water. I clean and sanitise my kit after every gig and allow to air dry before packing.
They should be able to provide a risk assessment on request and also provide their own guideline of their health and safety practice. Face paint and glitter used should be of the highest industry quality standard. It is worth noting that face paint is recommended by the makeup industry to be used on children aged three and above and so that is what face paint insurance covers in their policies.
I am DBS checked and fully insured. I have experience working with children throughout my career and I love my job working with children and people of all ages and backgrounds.
Quality of artwork can vary and prices may reflect this. Face paint is a lovely addition to a party and photos are memories to keep forever. Each face paint or body design is a piece of individual artwork : )

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I first started face painting when I worked as an art play worker for a community centre many years ago. I then worked for a face painting company based in a fancy dress shop. Here I gained experience working for many large events with big queues. I also learnt how to do hand-painted tattoos and hair braiding. As I had my own individual face painting style I began working as a freelance face paint artist over ten years ago. I love developing my practice to keep my designs updated. All my hard work is paid off when I see how my guests respond to their revealed designs. It is delightful for me to offer a creative service that brings joy to a party.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Each booking through Add to Event is different. I love the variety of each event and meeting new people and adapting to their party style. I have worked at public and private parties, both small and very large events. One of the events that I loved working on was for a wedding. The guests were very enthused about getting painted and all ages joined in. I did face paint and body art as well as glitter glitz and so there was a lot of variation! I stayed later to try and fit more guests in as the more I painted, the more people wanted to join in.
