What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide a comprehensive quotation, we need the event date, time and duration, the number of guests and the type of venue and location. The type of event i.e. wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc helps us to put together a bespoke package to suit the customer's requirements. The more information we are given the better service we can provide.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask the provider how long they have been offering the service and what previous experience they have and read any recent customer reviews. I would also ask what style of vintage china they can offer, for example, do the trios match or mismatch, and if there are colour options available. It is also helpful to find out if they can provide vintage accessories to accompany the china like cutlery and table linens. Do they offer a washing up service, a delivery and collection service and a set up service.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Julie's Vintage China started because I absolutely loved collecting vintage china and I wanted my collection to be used and enjoyed by others to make their celebrations memorable and unique. Starting my hire business has fuelled my passion to provide only the best quality china and service to my customers whether it is an Afternoon Tea for 4 guests or a Wedding for 100! I thoroughly enjoy helping my customers choose everything they need for their special occasions and events and seeing the smiles when I collect.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had many bookings through Add to Event and enjoyed providing vintage china for them all. One of our first bookings was for a lady arranging an Afternoon Tea for 22 guests for her 60th birthday. She requested vintage china, cutlery, tablecloths, napkins and bunting to create a wonderful tea party. We spent a lot of time perfecting every detail for her so she could relax and enjoy her special day. I would definitely recommend Add to Event to other small businesses in the hospitality and events industry to increase their business exposure.
