Linda’s Vintage Hire provide a stress-free vintage hire service for all occasions. If you are organising an event with a vintage flare they can supply furniture, crockery and a range of props and accessories to give your event that much loved nostalgic vintage feel. They also supply some hints on helping you to choose the right supplier for your event too.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for me to put together a comprehensive quote I need the following information;
1) How many guests they are looking to seat at their event?
2) A delivery area & postcode?
3) Which chairs do they prefer as we stock 2 different types?
4) Which size tables they prefer, either our 6'x2' or 6'x2'6"?
5) Dates required.
These are the basics needed for the average quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise any customer looking for a product to go and visit the supplier and check out the stock in person, if this is out of the question I would ask for lots of pictures or links to pictures of past events that supplier has done, the supplier in your area is likely to know many other suppliers in that same area so if there is something you are specifically looking for maybe they'll be able to recommend someone. I would also ask about delivery times/dates, any deposits required and availability obviously.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Linda's Vintage Hire was born out of my own wedding, I was looking for a local supplier who offered the hire of vintage furniture, crockery and props and couldn't find anyone, unfortunately. I started buying in everything as we have plenty of storage and my business was born from there, I had so many compliments for the styling of my wedding that someone else in the industry wanted to know who had styled my wedding, I was very proud to say I'd done it all myself :)

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have just joined and have sent out a few quotes, it is early days so looking forward to my first booking soon. My only observation as a vintage supplier is that I am getting enquiries regarding modern chairs and tables etc which as a vintage company we just don't stock chivari chairs etc. It would be awesome if I could be put in a vintage section or if potential clients could have the option to choose vintage styling.
