To provide a comprehensive quote, I would need the date, distance, exactly what the organiser wants to hire and for how many people. It is also helpful if I know what the event is. With this information, I can then put a comprehensible quote together for the customer.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask the provider if delivery and collection comes at a charge and what the damage deposit covers. I would also ask if the provider was fully insured with public liability. Make sure you look at what the provider can hire to you, you want to make sure what they have is of a high standard (no chips, cracks or damage).

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Back in 2010 we had our vintage-style wedding, since then I have always wanted to run my own china hire service, so I decided to chase my dreams. Finding china from all over England has been such an ecstatic, fun experience and I wanted to share that with excitement and happiness with others. Providing china for all special events has become my passion. With an Art and Design degree background, I have an eye for detail and design so I wanted to be able to advise clients on choosing or discussing table themes.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My most memorable booking through Add to Event was for a 90th Birthday Party in Monsal Head, Derbyshire. The whole experience was easy, smooth and ran like clockwork. Through this platform, I was able to give the customer exactly what they wanted and needed. We worked out a way they could save money on delivery and collection and we amended some of the order at last minute to add a glass cake pedestal stand to put the 90th Birthday cake on!
