What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We require the following information to provide the initial estimate.
1. Event date, location and active time for our attraction
2. Estimated number of visitors and their age range
3. Does the client wish to look at a fixed price, commission on sales or hybrid model to work with us
4. Indoor or outdoor, will we use our trailer or set up out of a trailer.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To ensure the provider understands the customer's comfort- VR can be very demanding on users.
To understand the length of experience and realistically appreciate how many visitors will be able to enjoy the attraction regarding time available.
To ensure the provider has the experience, technical support to avoid breakdowns and is correctly insured.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
HYPE Virtual reality started several years ago following my daughter trying a VR Roller coaster in a mobile shop (a bad experience!). Daddy said he could do better and went to his shed. 2 years later we have our fantastic machine that is mobile and can serve around 150 people a day (both adults and children)!
I have spent countless hours fine-tuning the ride and now have haptic feedback (track vibration) and variable (speed of travel) wind effect added.
