What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For most shoots, events, headshots, parties etc, I would need the location and start time.
For Headshots, the number of people being photographed as well as whether you require hair and makeup or any other specific requirement at least a week in advance.
For more concept/commercial work (lifestyle, fashion etc) ideally, for me to ensure I capture what you want and need, depending on the type of shoot, I would normally meet first to discuss the shoot and write down ideas, then I will come back with proposed dates and locations. and take it from there.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When people are asked, what is the first thing you would grab if your house was on fire? most people respond - their photographs!
Do not be scared off by the price.
A photographer is there to capture your special moments and if you are at this point looking for a professional to take on the role, then you know that this is an occasion to remember.
If a photographer seems expensive, think about the years of experience, the cost involved gaining that experience, equipment, insurance as well as the added time, once an event or a shoot is finished, the photographer will then have another few days of work to ensure that your images are returned and reflect your special day or event in the way you had hoped.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I’m based on the south coast of England, and I have easy travel links to the rest of the country and the world! I could bore you with details of my passion and love for photography which started when I was around 12 years old. Or how I’m only as good as my last shot, but you don’t want to hear about that, well until we meet to discuss your next shoot! I will just give you a flavour of who I am to whet the appetite before we meet. I’ve lived all over the UK and have also spent a lot of time in Paris, which was nice (not Nice – although I will be shooting there later in 2019 so watch this space). Despite working in a variety of roles in my career (from running bars to data analyst), photography was always in the background and I went from enthusiastic amateur to professional photographer – almost by chance (but with a lot of hard work thrown in). I’ve had some pretty amazing experiences as a professional photographer and have had the chance to shoot some of my heroes from TV and music. I offer a variety of services, including (but not limited to): Promo, Events, Portraits, Live music, Product shoots and more.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have just joined Add to Event and am really looking forward to my first booking through this platform. I feel it will help my business grow and it has been an easy process so far.
