Axes to Ashes has an interesting back story...

Way back in 2020 founder Andy Fletcher had the ambitious plan to sell-up everything he owned in the UK and move his family to Canada with the goal to live off the land; completely "off-grid". At the time, he was a Health & Safety Manager for a group of companies in Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

In 2021, Andy began a journey into the world of Bushcraft and Survival. During his learning, he acquired a number of certificates in a variety of Bushcraft and Survival accreditations, one of which was "Range Master" (not the posh cookers, but Master of a Range (i.e. projectiles including axes).

In 2022 one of Andy's colleagues was organising a charity fundraiser in Oldham, raising money for Mind and a local Children's Leukaemia Charity. Andy suggested axe throwing to help raise some funds. At the event, Andy was approached by two separate individuals who were also organising their own events and asked if Andy could host axe throwing at them too. This conversation was repeated at new events until Andy had 9 months worth of work and interest from other parties around the North West.

In May 2022, Andy named the business "Axes to Ashes", the idea behind the name came from the survival work; specifically axes would be used to prepare wood, build shelters, preparation for a campfire and at the end of a campfire you're left with ashes; so Axes to Ashes came from the whole survival journey of making shelter, creating fire and being left with the ashes...

At the start of 2023, Andy saw potential in the new business and went full-time; leaving the dedicated Health & Safety role behind him. During 2023 the business slowly grew, new opportunities came and private bookings at AirBnBs began to come in. So Andy needed a concept were axe throwing could be made more accessible in a confined area. Andy created a specialised system with a small footprint of just 3m x 6m which would facilitate axe throwing in someone's back garden - he named the system "Axessible".

During 2024 Axes to Ashes became one of the leading axe throwing providers in the north west, and gained a reputation of looking after their customers by going the extra mile and helping people with special needs and disabilities to have the opportunity to throw axes. In December 2024 Andy's commitment to look after his customers gained official recognition, where he was invited to an awards ceremony in London, where he won "Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year - North West".

In 2025 Axes to Ashes grew in popularity to be the "go-to" provider for axe throwing at weddings in the North West; utilising their Axessible Range dressed in the colours of the wedding; so that the activity integrated perfectly with the couples colours.

In 2026 Axes to Ashes were chosen to be a part of the the new Channel 5 series "Rich Wedding - Poor Wedding" series; providing axe throwing entertainment for the rich wedding at the Wellbeing Farm in Egerton, Bolton. The programme aired on Sunday 3rd May.

We've been operating a mobile axe throwing service since 2022. Our founder won "Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year - North West" in December 2024" Chosen for our professionalism and customer care for the Pilot for the TV series "Rich Wedding - Poor Wedding" at the Wellbeing Farm in Egerton, Bolton on 3 May 2026.

We provide mobile axe and knife throwing events all around the country; typically you will find us at the biggest and best food festivals, music festivals and car festivals. Private bookings are typically made through large corporations looking to entertain their staff and couples' looking for amazing entertainment for their wedding.
