In Clifton, Bristol, Coq keeps things delightfully simple: exceptional food, warm service, and a place people love returning to. Founded by two brothers united by a passion for hospitality, this trusted local favourite has built its reputation on doing the basics brilliantly and letting flavour lead the way.
The kitchen leans into comfort with craft, centred on buttermilk fried chicken and unapologetically indulgent burgers. Festive without the fuss, the Christmas Coq marries deep-fried chicken with Bramley apple brightness, cranberry jack cheese and a whisper of smoked sausage. For something bolder, The Gaucho Coq pairs braised beef and Monterey Jack with Sriracha mayo over tender, crunchy chicken — a confident nod to big, bold flavours.
Sides are more than a supporting act: think truffle and parmesan fries or mac and cheese loaded fries, plus drumsticks dusted in truffle and parmesan or turned Buffalo hot. To sip, the Coq-Tails keep spirits high with a Barrel Aged Negroni or an Old Fashioned, while Coq Session IPA and Peroni bring easy-going refreshment.

Our Story
Coq is Bristol’s newest destination for bold, flavour‑first food, specialising in elevated chicken dishes and vibrant, crowd‑pleasing sides. Born from a love of great produce, big flavours and relaxed good times, Coq was created to bring restaurant‑quality food to offices, studios and events across the city. Our team has years of experience in street food, restaurants and events catering, and we’ve designed our menus to travel well, serve quickly and satisfy everyone at the table.
We offer corporate catering for meetings, away days, office lunches, team celebrations and evening events. Our format is flexible: think generous sharing spreads, hot trays for buffet‑style service, or neatly packaged individual portions for workshops and on‑the‑go teams. We cater to a range of dietary needs, with clearly labelled halal, vegetarian, vegan and gluten‑free options, without compromising on flavour.
Our values are simple: quality ingredients, consistency, transparency and proper hospitality. We prioritise fresh, responsibly sourced produce, cook from scratch, and build menus that are both exciting and reliable. Punctuality and clear communication are central to how we work – we understand that corporate events run on tight schedules, and we plan deliveries and set‑ups to integrate smoothly with your agenda.
Set‑up is straightforward and low‑fuss. We can deliver ready‑to‑serve hot food in professional disposable or reusable containers, provide basic serving utensils, and label all dishes and allergens clearly.
Our Team

Started by Will and Ollie in 2020, Coq was born out of a desire for a premium food and bar experience that was fun and inclusive, with an emphasis on quality, service and love for all things chicken ! Powered by Ollie and his michelin trained background and Will with his years of customer facing and high end service experience the 2 brothers created Coq. From a humble street food van to now 2 full restaurant sites with more to follow, the brothers have shown that placing all your effort into a great product and service can create an exceptional experience for all.
Experience
Ollie and Will have over 5 years experience starting, operating and expanding Coq throughout the South West, achieving recognition as one of the best burgers in the South West being nominated multiple times for the muddy stiletto awards. Matthew Ashley and Luke Harris joined the team in 2025 as the brothers looked to join forces with proven operators within the industry, allowing a path to expansion and sharing Coq throughout the UK
Typical Clients
Corporate and business clients for both in house and event catering. We can supply bespoke business lunch and dinner options all the way up to large event catering with full Coq-tail bar and music. Our site at 109 Whiteladies Road, Bristol is also available for private hire and can sit up to 60 people internally or 150 people standing.
