About Debbie Whitmore Photography
With a background in Marketing and PR, I create editorial, magazine-worthy imagery with style and purpose. I’ve had more than one groom tell me, “I look incredible!” …and that’s just the groom.
I notice something in people they don’t always see in themselves. With clear direction, plenty of laughs and an eye for the moments that matter, I create photographs that are bold, emotive and unmistakably yours.

Our Story
I always knew I wasn’t meant to be desk-bound. I’ve always been creative—taking things apart to see how they worked, drawn to art, and obsessed with light.
My first job was in a print company, surrounded by aspiring photographers. One of my colleagues sold me a rangefinder camera for £10, and that was the start. I signed up for evening classes before landing an assistant’s role in a professional studio, learning with state-of-the-art equipment. That experience led me into PR and later Marketing at a leading university.
Photography has never felt like work—it’s instinctive. I love the whole process: the ideas, the banter, the faffing, the composition, and finally creating an image that makes you stop and stare.
Call me egotistical if you like, but a great photograph feels like a trophy. And once you’ve captured one, you’re already chasing the next.
These days, music inspires me just as much as photography. Sometimes a soundtrack finds an image before the image finds itself. But light will always be my greatest inspiration—I’ll chase it wherever it leads.
And yes, other photographers inspire me too. Why wouldn’t they? Great work should inspire us all.

Experience
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My career has taken me from a professional studio to PR and Marketing, where my images became part of large-scale campaigns, appeared on billboards, featured across university campuses, online publications and in marketing campaigns reaching far beyond the local area.
Some of my biggest milestones haven’t been awards—they’ve been the moments where experience really counts. A rain-soaked wedding, unpredictable weather, impossible light… there’s always a solution. Umbrellas, changing the plan, chasing the light—where there’s a will, there’s always a way.
Awards? Not yet… but who knows. Seeing my work used on billboards, in print and across major campaigns has always been reward enough.
