My name is Ewan. I’m a wedding photographer based in Edinburgh, with more than 20 years of photographic experience. I help you remember your wedding day by telling your story — quietly, honestly, and without turning it into a photoshoot.
Every picture should be worth a thousand words. When you look back, you’ll remember the excitement, the small details, the people who were there, and how the day actually felt.
The investment will be worth it, because these photographs are how you’ll return to your wedding day in the years to come.
I’ll capture the little moments you can share forever — from getting ready in the morning to the end of the evening. Whether your wedding is in a church, a stately home, a castle, a registrar’s office, or on a remote beach, I’ll be there without being in your way.
I won’t be setting up intrusive lights or constantly arranging people. A wedding is a personal event and deserves care.

Our Story
… I don’t always take life seriously but I do love my photography!
Some thoughts about me. After studying for an MA in Social Science at Glasgow University, I was lucky enough to live and work on the Island of Iona for many years, during which time I had my own traditional darkroom and digital photographic restoration business. While living there I photographed and wrote a book: The Cloisters of Iona Abbey , my first commercial success.
In 2007 I went back to University (Derby) to study for a B. A. (Hons) in Commercial Photography, for which I was given a first. I was also pleased to be awarded Associate membership of the British Institute of Professional Photography, ABIPP, at the same time, based on my portfolio of work. After moving to the far North of Scotland I allowed my BIPP membership to lapse. Now I am based in Edinburgh.

It took nearly 25 years but I am now delighted to finally be a full-time photographer.

I have been a full time professional photographer since 2007 and before that I was part-time serious amateur.
Typical Clients
I cover weddings and events all over Scotland and beyond! I love to travel to remote places, beaches, castles, stately homes and village halls. I look for the unusual and adventurous couples - so if that's you - get in touch!

This was a last minute request and we were not disappointed- Ewan arrived on time, listened and took on board our suggestions for photos - his communications with the bridal party were considered and non intrusive thank you for capturing our special moments - highly recommend

Great service!
Ewan was excellent. His communication prior to the day was great. In the day, he fitted right in, always there catching special moments without being in any way intrusive. It was easy to forget he was there! The photos were marvellous - he really captured the fun vibe of the day and provided us with great shots of ourselves, family, friends and venue that we will cherish forever.
