I'm Wayne — a professional wedding DJ and MC with over 30 years of experience, based in Ely and covering Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. I work exclusively with weddings and private celebrations. You won't find me doing pub nights or club residencies — weddings are the whole job, and I think that focus shows in the quality of what I deliver. My online planning portal lets you map out your entire day at your own pace — must-play tracks, do-not-plays, the first dance, key moments and announcements — so nothing gets missed and nothing gets forgotten. On the day itself, I arrive early, set up discreetly, and get on with the job: reading the room, keeping the energy where it needs to be, and making sure everything flows without you ever having to think about it. I offer three packages depending on how much of your day you want covered — from an evening-only party through to full ceremony-to-carriages cover. All packages include quality sound and lighting, a tailored playlist built around you and your guests, and a DJ who genuinely cares how your day turns out. No cheesy routines. No forced audience participation. No shouting over your favourite song. Just a relaxed, experienced DJ and MC who'll make your wedding feel effortless — and your dancefloor impossible to leave.

I played my first wedding over 30 years ago. I was cheap, local, and enthusiastic — but looking back, I wasn't really prepared for what a wedding actually needs. I remember watching the dancefloor empty and thinking: these people deserved better than this.

That night stuck with me. It's probably why I've spent three decades trying to get it right.

I fell into DJing the way a lot of people do — a passion for music, a few parties, and a growing realisation that I was reasonably good at reading a room. But weddings are different. They're not just about playing the right songs. They're about managing the emotional arc of an entire day — the ceremony, the drinks, the dinner, the speeches, the moment the dancefloor opens. Every transition matters. Every announcement matters. The moments that feel effortless are the ones that take the most experience to get right.

What keeps me doing this after 30 years isn't the equipment or the music library or the technical side of it — it's the moment a dancefloor clicks into gear and you can feel the whole room come alive. It's the couple who glance at each other mid-song like "this is exactly what we hoped for." It's the message the next day saying the guests are still talking about it.

I work exclusively with weddings and private celebrations because this specific craft — making a day flow properly, reading a crowd, knowing when to raise the energy and when to let a moment breathe — deserves to be taken seriously. And I can only take it as seriously as it deserves if I'm not spreading myself across every type of event going.

I've been a professional DJ and MC for over 30 years, working exclusively with weddings and private celebrations across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. In that time I've played at hundreds of weddings — from intimate barn receptions for 40 guests to full ceremony-to-carriages days for 150 — across some of the region's most sought-after venues including Sheene Mill, Longstowe Hall, Lanwades Hall, The Thatch Barn, Bedingham's Farm Barn, Old Hall Ely and many more.

But the milestone I'm most proud of is simpler than any trophy: in over 30 years, I've never missed a booking, never had a dancefloor that didn't fill, and never had a couple tell me they wished they'd chosen someone else. All equipment is fully PAT tested and I carry comprehensive public liability insurance.

My typical clients are couples planning weddings in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk — usually at barn venues, country houses, manor houses or marquee receptions, though I work across all venue types in the region.

Most of the couples who book me have been to a wedding where the entertainment didn't quite land — the dancefloor emptied early, the DJ made it about himself, or the night just never got going. They know what they don't want, and they're looking for someone they can trust to get it right without having to micromanage every detail.
