Our Story
Over time, that fascination developed into a passion for performing and sharing magic with other people. I discovered that what I enjoy most isn't simply performing a trick, but seeing the reaction it creates — the surprise, laughter and sense of wonder when someone experiences something they can't quite explain.
Today, as Magic Yin, I bring that passion to weddings, private parties, corporate events and special occasions throughout Edinburgh and beyond. My style is personal, interactive and designed to make people feel part of the experience rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
For me, great magic is about more than tricks. It's about creating moments that people remember, talk about and share long after the performance is over.
My goal is simple: to make your event unforgettable, one magical moment at a time.
Experience
Over the past 25 years, I have pursued magic on and off alongside my other professional interests and commitments. This has given me the opportunity to continually develop my performance style, learn new techniques and, most importantly, understand what makes magic genuinely entertaining for an audience.
Today, I bring that experience together as Magic Yin, with a focus on creating engaging, interactive and memorable experiences for guests at weddings, private parties, corporate events and special occasions.
After more than two decades of being involved with magic, my passion for the art remains as strong as ever — and I love nothing more than sharing that sense of wonder with an audience.

Wonderful performance, just what we wanted
A rocky start as GPS failed and although in time to start as scheduled it gave us initial worries. Totally unfounded, straight in to his performance like a professional, entertained each table possibly twice in the time we agreed. The guests loved his personality and his magic, it was a surprise for everyone and it worked, will be talked about for some time. Terms were as agreed and was very acceptable. Yin was the cherry on the top of a great celebration.
Wedding
Magic Yin performed at my wedding for a couple of hours whilst me and my wife were getting photos taken. He was absolutely fantastic, all our guests, young and old, were blown away with how good he was. I really lovely guy and I would highly recommend him for anyone planning an event in the future. Yin - what a star!!
We had a post-elopement party in a bar in Edinburgh with around 90 guests. The plan was for Yin to mingle and entertain people with some card tricks, in the event there were any awkward silences. Little did we know Yin was going to be such a hit! People absolutely loved him and his amazing card tricks. Yin's natural enthusiasm for magic and entertaining people shone through and he was without doubt the star of the show. Our only regret is that we didn't book him for longer, as people definitely wanted to see more! A great guy, great tricks and a really fun element to add to any party. We would 100% recommend Yin and we have a lovely souvenir card from one of his tricks to frame and celebrate the occasion. THANKS YIN!
