Marvellous Disco provides a multi-award-winning DJ and mobile disco service across the North of England, the Scottish Borders and beyond. I specialise in wedding entertainment, but also perform at birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties and other celebrations where a packed dance floor and great atmosphere are essential.
Music is tailored completely to your event. My library spans everything from the 1950s through to the latest chart hits, covering genres including pop, rock & roll, disco, R&B, indie, dance and more. Whether your guests love classic floor-fillers or modern party music, I create a carefully mixed soundtrack that keeps all ages on the dance floor.
To deliver a professional experience, I use a high-end sound and lighting setup, including the stylish Humpter B3 Dj booth (with neon 'Never miss a chance to dance' sign), Studiomaster digital speaker systems, and a vibrant lightshow featuring DMX-synchronised moving head lighting and colour wash effects. The result is a clean, elegant look that enhances your venue while creating an exciting party atmosphere.
For your first dance, lighting switches to pure white only, ensuring elegant photos without coloured dots on faces or clothing.
I am not the stereotypical “cheesy” DJ constantly talking over the music. My style is modern, energetic and music-focused. I mix tracks seamlessly to maintain momentum on the dance floor and keep the evening flowing naturally.
When you book with Marvellous Disco you receive access to your secure online planning portal, where you can submit music requests and manage your event timeline.

Our Story
My journey into DJing started in Alnwick, where I grew up and first developed a love for music and entertaining people. One of my earliest experiences behind the microphone was at Lionheart Radio, the local community radio station in Alnwick. Being involved in radio gave me a real appreciation for music, presentation and understanding what people enjoy listening to.
Over time that passion grew into DJing at events and parties, and I quickly realised how much I enjoyed creating an atmosphere where people could relax, celebrate and have a great time. What began as a hobby gradually developed into Marvellous Disco, a professional DJ service focused on providing modern, high-quality entertainment for weddings and special events.
My aim has always been to offer something a little different from the stereotypical wedding disco. I focus on great music, quality sound and stylish lighting, helping create a fun and energetic atmosphere while keeping everything polished and professional.
Outside of DJing I’m also a dad, and family is incredibly important to me. That perspective has made me appreciate just how meaningful occasions like weddings are, and I treat every event with the same care and attention I would want for my own celebration.
Over the years Marvellous Disco has grown largely through word of mouth and recommendations, and I’ve been proud to win several regional wedding awards along the way. For me though, the most important thing is always the same, giving couples an unforgettable evening and a dance floor their guests will remember long after the wedding day is over.

Our Team
Marvellous Disco is proudly run by just me, which means when you book, you deal directly with the DJ who will be performing at your event from the very first enquiry right through to the last song of the night.
I believe this personal approach makes a real difference. There are no sales teams, agencies or subcontracted DJs involved. Instead, you have one experienced professional who takes the time to understand your plans, your music preferences and the atmosphere you want to create.
Over the years I’ve invested heavily in professional equipment and built a strong reputation for reliability, organisation and attention to detail. Running the business myself allows me to maintain those standards at every event and ensures every wedding receives the care and preparation it deserves.
For additional peace of mind, I am also part of an Alliance of DJs, a professional network of trusted and experienced DJs across the region. In the extremely unlikely event that something outside of my control prevented me from attending, another high-quality DJ could be sourced to step in and ensure your event still runs smoothly.
Thankfully this has only ever been needed once in over 21 years of DJing, and that was during the exceptional circumstances of the Covid period.
For couples, this means you receive the personal service of a dedicated DJ, along with the reassurance that there is a professional backup network in place if it were ever required.

Experience
I have been working as a DJ for over 21 years, performing at a huge variety of events and venues across the UK. During that time I’ve had the privilege of playing everywhere from small village halls and intimate wedding venues right through to major arenas and large stadium events.
Some of the more unique venues I’ve worked at include The O2 Arena in London, as well as the famous Geordie Shore house, alongside countless weddings, corporate events and private celebrations throughout the country. This wide range of experience has helped me develop the ability to read a crowd quickly and create the right atmosphere for any type of event, whether it’s an elegant wedding reception or a high-energy party.
While those larger venues are exciting, weddings remain at the heart of what I do. Over the years I’ve performed at over 1000 weddings, and built a reputation for providing a modern, professional DJ service with great music, high-quality sound and stylish lighting.
My work has also been recognised within the wedding industry, with Marvellous Disco winning Best Wedding DJ at the North East of England Wedding Awards in 2022 and 2024, along with the Hitched Wedding Award 2026.

Great service
Communication between him and was was brilliant. Kept up to date and we were able to send all our song requests which to us was a massive thing. He also took requests on the night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Although a 60th birthday there were more younger ones than us oldies and he catered for all ages. Really good. Definitely recommend.

What can we say? Simon was with us from booking to the actual event! He was in contact every step of the way! Attention to detail was a must for me (I'm a bit of a perfectionist) everything went so smoothly. Absolutely loved every minute, all the guests have since messaged to say how fab the DJ was.
