Moss & Moon brings together Nina, a shepherd and celebrant, and Edwina, a herbalist and celebrant, to create warm, authentic ceremonies that reflect your story, your values and your personality.

Weaving together beautiful words, the changing seasons and the natural world, every ceremony is thoughtfully crafted to feel deeply personal, memorable and unmistakably you.

At Moss & Moon, you’re not choosing just one celebrant — you have two professionally trained, fully insured celebrants who bring experience, creativity and a genuine love of what we do to every ceremony. We work together behind the scenes, sharing ideas, experience and inspiration, but you get to choose which one of us will be your celebrant and deliver your ceremony.

Both Nina and Edwina are professionally trained and are fully insured. Between us, we have created and delivered ceremonies for clients, as well as many weddings, handfastings and meaningful celebrations for family and friends. We understand that no two couples, or two love stories, are the same.

What makes us different is that we don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ ceremony. We take the time to get to know you: your story, your quirks, the people you love, the places that matter and the promises you want to make. Then we turn all of that into a ceremony that feels completely, unmistakably yours.

We bring a little bit of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lancashire Moors with us too. Nina is a shepherd, Edwina is a herbalist, and our shared love of the natural world runs through everything we do. From seasonal rituals and handfastings to beautifully written words and thoughtful little details, we create ceremonies that feel warm, authentic, personal and rooted in you.

We’re experienced in the emotional side of ceremonies too — knowing when to make you laugh, when to give a moment space, and when the words really matter.

Most importantly, we genuinely care. We’re here to tell your story, not ours. No scripts pulled from a drawer, no forced traditions and no pretending to be someone you’re not. Just a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony that feels like you.

Moss & Moon may be a new name, but the experience behind it certainly isn’t.

Between Nina and Edwina, we bring years of experience of working with people, creating meaningful celebrations and being trusted with some of life’s most important moments. We have created and delivered weddings, handfastings, naming ceremonies and other celebrations for clients, family and friends, building a wealth of practical experience long before Moss & Moon was born.

A key milestone for us was completing our professional celebrant training. Both of us are professionally trained, fully insured and committed to continuing our learning so that we can offer ceremonies that are thoughtful, inclusive and professionally delivered.

Nina brings a particularly unusual mix of experience. As a shepherd and someone who has spent years working in the Yorkshire Dales, she understands the seasons, the landscape and the communities that make this part of the world so special. Her professional background has also involved working closely with people, communities and organisations, giving her a natural ability to listen, communicate and remain calm when emotions are high.

Edwina brings her own wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of plants, herbs and the natural world. Together, these different experiences are at the heart of Moss & Moon and help us create ceremonies that are distinctive, personal and rooted in nature.

Our greatest achievement, though, is the feedback we receive from the people we have worked with. We are proud to be trusted to tell people’s stories, hold space for important moments and create ceremonies that people remember for all the right reasons.

We may not have a trophy cabinet full of awards — yet! — but we believe that being recommended, trusted and invited back to create more ceremonies is an achievement worth celebrating.

Our clients are couples, families and individuals who want something more personal than a traditional, off-the-shelf ceremony.

We work with couples who are getting married, renewing their vows, eloping or making a commitment to one another, as well as families celebrating a new arrival through naming ceremonies and other meaningful milestones.

We particularly love working with people who want to bring in elements of nature, seasonal traditions, handfasting, family rituals or their own unique ideas. Our clients come from all walks of life. Some have always dreamed of a big, traditional celebration; others want something tiny, intimate and completely relaxed. Some have strong family traditions they want to honour, while others are creating their own traditions from scratch.

We also work with couples who have been married before and want their next chapter to feel entirely different.

What they tend to have in common is that they want their ceremony to feel like them. They want laughter, personality and genuine emotion rather than words that could belong to anyone.

They may have a clear idea of what they want, or they may simply know that they don't want a conventional ceremony and need us to help bring their ideas to life.

We’re particularly drawn to people who love the outdoors, the Yorkshire landscape, wildlife, crafts, folklore and the changing seasons — although you certainly don't need to be a nature lover to be a Moss & Moon couple! From a woodland handfasting or an elopement on the fells to a garden wedding, a relaxed celebration at home or a naming ceremony surrounded by family, we create ceremonies wherever your story takes us. Ultimately, our typical client is someone who wants their ceremony to be personal, heartfelt, a little bit different and completely their own.
