My name is Mikey Russell, and my journey into creative production emerged from my community involvement and passion for making things run smoothly behind the scenes. What started as volunteering and supporting live events gradually evolved into hands-on experience in film, sound, lighting, and digital media. Additionally, I have spent over 15 years working in the web and IT industries, which has instilled a work ethic that values reliability, problem-solving, and attention to detail just as much as creativity.
Much of my work has focused on the LGBTQ+ community and the voluntary sector, where I have been involved in Pride events, film-based vigils, live performances, and fundraising projects. Working in these environments taught me early on that budgets are often tight, teams are usually comprised of volunteers, and every piece of content must effectively justify the time and effort invested in it. These experiences continue to shape my approach to every project.
MPR Productions was born from this journey. It reflects my collaborative and thoughtful working style, along with a genuine interest in the people and stories behind each project. I don't just arrive with the necessary equipment; I take the time to understand your goals, your target audience, and how best to support your message. Whether it involves bringing a mobile recording setup to performers or creating films that inform, commemorate, or celebrate, my aim is always the same: to deliver work that is considered, professional, and true to its purpose.
