About Rooted Ceremonies
As a natural introvert and empath, I love creating space for others to express themselves, including the quieter voices. Listening is my superpower and people often comment on how quickly they feel at ease with me.
When we're designing a ceremony together, it's firstly about understanding what really matters to you- your wishes and hopes for the ceremony, the important stories that need sharing and unique personality traits and interests that we want to shine through in the ceremony. I tune in and help you draw out your ideas before I unleash my own creativity.
Once we have agreed on the final script, I am confident that the ceremony I have written, absolutely reflects the person or people it has been designed for.
My special touches can include home grown and hand-dried petals for scattering, nature-inspired ritual, helping you to craft the materials for your ceremony, or when the circumstances are right, leading your audience in song.
I can help you to choose, or invent rituals or other elements within your ceremony that represent you and your journeys- where you come from, the spiritual, religious or cultural frameworks that you connect to.
I chose the name Rooted Ceremonies because I see that when hosted well, ceremonies have the power to connect us deeper to ourselves, each other and the earth. This happens through the design and preparation of the ceremony, through the words, stories and symbolic elements we might include, and the ways that everyone present is inclusively welcomed and held.
One final thing in case you are interested, I co-run a co-operatively owned lake-side indoor eco venue for micro-ceremonies for up to 20 guests.

Our Story
I am a celebrant because it brings me deep joy! I love the whole process of getting to know people, listening to your stories and your ideas, creating your script and recording it for you so you can begin to really imagine it, and then supporting you to prepare emotionally and practically for the moment itself.
I have always felt that significant passages in life deserve to be properly acknowledged and marked in a way that feels fitting. Through my background as a mediator of conflicts, a facilitator of group processes and a nature educator, I have learnt to stand calm and rooted. I have a lot of room in my heart for other people's joys (and challenges, sadness, grief, overwhelm, nervousness, and all the rest!).

Experience
I have been hosting ceremonies for friends and family since 2016, and trained as a celebrant in 2023. Since then I have designed and hosted a whole array of ceremonies for couples and families, across all the different stages in life (birthing and becoming parents; getting married or celebrating a complete family; ending a relationship; and celebrating the life of a loved one). I always prioritise quality over quantity.
Typical Clients
The ceremonies I host may be indoors, or outdoors- in your back garden, in a field, a woodland or on a campsite or anywhere you like!
When it comes to weddings, couples I work with usually do the legal bit separately and then come to me for a really meaningful and beautiful ceremony with all the freedom and time to make it unique, memorable and perfectly fitting.
For celebrations of life, memorials or other types of funeral services, I can be hired through a funeral director or independently. Our first step will be an in-depth family meeting where we take the time for you to share with me, your memories and stories of your loved one and together we work out what you'd like the service or ceremony to look like.
It's important to me that any audience or guests you have feel really included and part of your ceremony too, whether that's by just making sure everyone can hear and feels comfortable, or through the things we insert into the ceremony.
People I work with may know exactly what they want their ceremony to feel like, but don't know how to create it, or they may be clear about what they don't want but unsure what they do want! The beauty of working together means we can tease this all out gently.
