My passion for food goes beyond simply cooking a great meal — it's about bringing people together, creating memorable experiences and helping others discover the pleasure of good food. With a lifelong commitment to the culinary profession, I founded Sloan's Catering to bring restaurant-quality dining into people's homes and share my knowledge through practical, enjoyable cookery experiences. Whether I'm preparing a bespoke dinner for guests or teaching someone to cook with confidence, I believe great food should be exciting, accessible and something everyone can enjoy.

With over 20 years of professional experience highlighted on my website, I bring extensive culinary knowledge across private dining, restaurant kitchens, catering and menu development. My career includes leading kitchen teams, developing seasonal menus, managing food quality and costs, and creating memorable dining experiences for private clients and special occasions. I've worked across a wide range of cuisines and styles, from traditional British and modern European cooking to international dishes, and have also shared my culinary knowledge through live food demonstrations on BBC Radio Nottingham. Today, I combine this experience with a personal approach to bespoke dining and cookery education.

I work with individuals, couples, families and groups looking to make an occasion special without the stress of organising all the food themselves. My clients include people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings and hen weekends, as well as guests staying in holiday cottages and luxury accommodation who want a private chef experience. I also welcome businesses seeking interactive cookery sessions and team-building experiences, alongside beginner and developing home cooks who want to improve their skills, gain confidence and enjoy creating delicious food. Every experience is tailored to the client's occasion, preferences and requirements.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Food and Nutrition, awarded with a 2:1 by Liverpool John Moores University, alongside professional culinary training at South Cheshire College, including City & Guilds catering qualifications. My additional qualifications include a Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene certificate, and I am a member of the Craft Guild of Chefs. My academic background in food and nutrition complements my practical kitchen experience, giving me a strong understanding of ingredients, food preparation and the techniques that help produce consistently excellent results.
