About Soul Smash Street Food Ltd

We’re a smash burger street food business focused on big flavour and proper cooking. Our burgers are smashed fresh on the grill for crispy edges and juicy centres, seasoned with our own house blend and built with bold, balanced toppings - from rich caramelised onions and homemade sauces to sharp, sweet-and-spicy house pickles. We keep things simple and do them well, with a tight menu designed for fresh cooking, fast service, and food that really hits at busy events.

Our Story

Soul Smash started because we were fed up, to be honest. We were both working for other people, unhappy, and stuck in jobs that didn’t feel like they were going anywhere. We got to a point where we just thought, something has to change.

One night at home I made Emily a smash burger for the first time, nothing fancy, just really tried to make it good. She said, half joking, “If this burger’s actually good, we’ll buy a food truck.” It turned out to be the best burger she’d ever eaten, and that was kind of the moment everything clicked.

Around the same time we were watching the film Chef on repeat (honestly about 50 times) and got obsessed with the idea of building something of our own around food, freedom and hard work. Neither of us had a background in catering, I was just an avid home cook who was completely obsessed with burgers, but we decided to go for it.

Nearly four years ago we bought our first small catering trailer and learned everything the hard way. Since then we’ve upgraded to a fully fitted Volkswagen Crafter food van and kept pushing to get better. I’ve been obsessed with developing the best smash burgers possible, constantly tweaking and refining, and we genuinely believe what we’re serving now stands up against anything else out there.

Soul Smash is something we’re really proud of. It’s built from scratch, driven by passion, and focused on doing simple food properly. What started as a late night smash burger at home has turned into something we love doing every day.

Our Team

Soul Smash is run by us, Andy and Emily. We’re a small, hands on team who built the business from the ground up and are involved in every part of it, from menu development and prep to cooking and service on the day. What you see at the van is exactly who we are, we care about the food, the experience, and making sure every customer leaves happy.

Experience

Soul Smash has been operating for nearly four years, growing from a small catering trailer into a fully fitted Volkswagen Crafter food van. Over that time, we’ve developed our menu, systems, and service to work consistently in busy, high-volume environments. As a hands on, owner run business, all of our experience comes directly from real events, live services, and continuous refinement rather than shortcuts or outsourcing. Our focus has always been on improving the product, speed of service, and overall customer experience.

Typical Clients

We cater for a wide range of events, from large public festivals and beer events to private and corporate bookings. This includes music and food festivals, Christmas switch ons, charity events, sporting and community events, as well as private functions such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate parties. Our setup is well suited to both high volume public events and more intimate private bookings, with a flexible menu and fast service that works in busy, time pressured environments.

Credentials

We are an independent, owner operated street food business. While we are not members of any professional catering bodies, we operate to a high standard of food safety and professionalism, with all required certifications in place, including food hygiene training (5*) and local authority registration.
