Tatty Van is a coffee that celebrates a journey. Built from scratch by me (Luke), Tatty Van coffee is totally unique, with the outside being a little tatty with a few bumps, scrapes and dings with the odd paint peel, but as you look beyond the body work, you’ll find a stunning retro lever coffee machine and handmade Moroccan tiles, beautiful wood cladding and paint work to match.
Just like me, we have all been on a journey of some sort, so with Tatty Van, why not celebrate its history and wear its perfections with pride?
And now for the good stuff, Tatty is completely off-grid, running on solar and an inboard gas bottle, but can also run on mains if needed.
We serve coffee, tea and hot chocolate, with my motto “ Do one thing, but absolutely nail that one thing”, also offering decaf, vegan and gluten-free alternatives. 100% of our stock is compostable or recyclable, with a high standard of ethics and sustainability, going as far as our stockists had to share our values.

Our Story
I love coffee and building things; it has always been a dream to have a coffee shop, but unfortunately, shops are a bit expensive. After having a few jobs that honestly didn’t make me happy, one day I walked outside, looked at my VW Transporter and said, “That’s my beginning”, and here we are, 10 months from nothing to something. Tatty Van was built and ready to go.
Another fun motto I have is “I have no give” which basically means if it’s not up to my standards of sustainability, ethics or aesthetics then it won’t be sold or put in the van, which is why all of my products are recyclable or compostable, come from B grade corporations, small and local producers where I can and the van runs on 99% solar.
