Tech My Event was founded by James Lucas after over three decades working in technical theatre and live production. James started his career in the theatre, where precision, reliability and working under pressure are non-negotiable values that carry directly into every event he works on today. The business was built on a simple principle: deliver exactly what the client needs, on time, safely and within budget. No upselling, no unnecessary equipment, no surprises on the day. That approach has led to long-term partnerships with venues and event organisers who trust Tech My Event to deliver consistently, year after year.

Tech My Event is led by James Lucas, who has over 30 years of hands-on experience in technical theatre and live event production. Throughout his career, James has delivered production for everything from intimate corporate meetings and heritage venue installations to large-scale outdoor festivals and multi-day touring shows. The company has worked with prestigious venues, including Stansted Park, delivered production for The Garden Show across multiple UK venues, and provided full event power management for the South Downs Food Festival in both 2024 and 2025. Every project is approached with the same attention to detail - whether it's a single PA system for a business briefing or a complete AV, lighting and power setup for a festival main stage.

We work with a wide range of clients across the UK - from corporate event managers and festival organisers to venue directors, production companies and first-time event organisers. All Tech My Event engineers are fully accredited: IPAF (working at height), PASMA (mobile scaffold towers), ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme), City & Guilds 7909 (entertainment electrician) and ISCVE (Institute of Sound, Communications and Visual Engineers). Copies of certifications are available on request - often required by venues, local authorities and event organisers.
