The Italian Stallion

At The Italian Stallion we serve authentic Neapolitan wood fired pizza, from a stunning converted vintage horse trailer. Our delicious pizzas and the theatre of the wood fired oven bring a very memorable talking point to any event.

All of our pizzas are made fresh to order and cooked in our on-board wood fired oven in around 60-90 seconds. We use only the highest quality ingredients including San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella which are imported fresh weekly from Italy, and a fusion of authentic Italian and local, seasonal produce. We have an exciting toppings menu, including the essential classics as well as some delicious more innovative combinations. We are also able to provide gluten free and vegan cheese alternatives on request. We pride ourselves on being adaptable and providing the very best customer service.

The Italian Stallion was born out of owner Holly's lifelong obsession with all things Italian: the food, the cooking, the eating, and the unmistakable joy of a perfect Margherita. After two foodie tours of Italy and a particularly life-changing pizza at da Michele in Naples (the oldest pizzeria in the city, and yes, the one from Eat Pray Love), Holly made a pact to bring that same authentic Neapolitan experience back to the UK, using only the best San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella imported fresh from Italy.

In July 2016, Holly bought a vintage Rice Beaufort Treble horse trailer and had it lovingly converted into a wood fired pizza kitchen by Dragon Ovens in Colchester. The road wasn't entirely smooth (the original trailer was written off in a road accident on the way home from collection) but determination won out, and a second trailer was sourced and converted within weeks.

The Italian Stallion mk2 launched in May 2017 with a charity opening party, and it's been galloping across the Midlands ever since, bringing pizza to the people at weddings, parties, festivals and street food markets.

Since launching in 2017, The Italian Stallion has catered hundreds of weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, festivals and street food markets across Leicestershire and the wider Midlands.

The trailer is a regular fixture at private celebrations and public events alike, and the team are well-versed in slotting seamlessly into the day - whether that's a quiet rural wedding, a lively festival pitch or a busy corporate launch.

The Italian Stallion holds a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from the Food Standards Agency and is a member of NCASS (the Nationwide Caterers Association), so you can be confident every pizza is prepared and served to the highest food safety standards.

The business is fully insured with public liability cover, and all gas and electrical equipment is regularly tested and certified.
