About The Workhouse Kitchen

With over 30 years of experience in Catering, Bar & Hospitality throughout the SouthEast and since relocating to The Cotswolds in 2023, The Workhouse Kitchen has been created. After providing some additional help to local cartering companies and catering at some prestigious events in the Cotswolds, we are now offering event catering from our own company, from buffets to BBQs or something a little more formal.

Our Story

My love for catering began over 35 years ago when at 14 I started working weekends at a Country Pub / Wedding Venue, The Mill at Worston in Staffordshire. What started out as pot washing soon became my chosen path of cooking.

After working in pubs and restaurant kitchens I finally took the plunge and started my own mobile catering business. This took me far and wide and gave me the opportunities to cater for large corporate companies such as Monsoon, The White Company & Clockwork Orange…VIP’s along with Lords & Ladies…plus a few pop stars along the way!

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to have had great opportunities to have run various catering franchises and after moving to the marsh in 2018; I was ready to take on another premises and in 2019 Kerry’s Kitchen Lydd was founded at 3 Park Street, Lydd. Since opening in 2019 we have managed to give thousands back into the Lydd Community through sponsorship and donations to local community projects, this is something my team & I are very proud of along with being featured in the 2022 Strange Cargo book “Everywhere means something to someone” and winning awards for “Best Cafe in Kent in 2022 & 2023.

In 2023 I relocated to Stroud Gloucestershire for my next adventure, my love of Country Sports landed me the role of Head Chef & Catering Manager at the prestigious Ian Coley Sporting where I ran the busy cafe and hospitality suite. During my time there my team and I catered for hundreds of guests on a weekly basis. We also provided catering for their prestigious events including “Coupe Des Nations”. Ian Coley Sporting was named Course of the year by the CPSA in 2024.
