Our Story
Our journey started with just one retro MK2 Transit — lovingly restored and converted into a fish & chip van. We didn’t set out to become award-winning caterers or build a fleet; we simply wanted to serve great food in a way that felt fun, nostalgic and full of personality. People instantly connected with the van’s character and our passion, and before long, demand grew far beyond what we ever imagined.
Behind the scenes, our business is built on a strong foundation of professional experience. With a background in finance, marketing and change management — including years working within food manufacturing — we bring organisation, planning, and reliability to everything we do. Combined with hands-on catering experience, food safety knowledge, and logistics expertise within the family, we’ve been able to grow a business that is both creative and highly efficient.
What inspires us most is seeing the reaction from our clients and their guests — the smiles at a wedding when the van pulls up, the excitement at a workplace event, the messages of thanks from couples and companies who trust us year after year. Our Team

I’m Georgina, a CIMA-qualified accountant with a marketing background and years of experience working in finance, change management and the food manufacturing sector. I bring the organisation, planning, communication and attention to detail that ensures every event runs smoothly — whether we’re serving 50 people or 2,000. I’m always looking for ways to improve, innovate and give our clients an experience that feels personal and professional from start to finish.
My husband, Justin, handles the operational side of our business. With many years of hands-on experience in the food industry, warehousing and logistics, he is the backbone of our fleet — managing equipment, food safety, vehicle preparation and event execution. He ensures that everything is set up safely, efficiently and reliably so our team can serve at their best.
Together, we combine business expertise, industry knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for what we do. We’ve spent nearly a decade building a unique mobile catering fleet that reflects our values: quality, reliability, friendliness and good old-fashioned hard work.
We’re also supported by a small, trusted team of event staff who share our commitment to excellent service. Many of them have been with us for years and understand the standards we expect — from the way our vans are presented to how they interact with guests.

Communication from the beginning to end was great!! Everything went smoothly and the food was amazing!!!
Amazing service & food
Great communication, they made it really easy to organise dietary requirements and allergens with them. The service was great and most importantly the food was delicious!! So many of our guests said it was the best fish and chips they’ve had in ages.

Celebrating National Fish 'n' Chip Day
As a company, we at Avtron like to celebrate different days with food. 6th June is National Fish 'n' Chip Day, so we thought we would have a food vendor come onsite to provide Fish 'n' Chips! After some research, I went with The Hungry Plaice. I am so glad I did! The food was amazing, and they catered for the food allergies/dietary requirements we have, so that everyone was included. I am gluten sensitive, and I had the Gluten-free Sausages, and I had to say, they are the BEST GF Sausages I have ever had!. We will definitely use The Hungry Plaice again, and I definitely recommend them.
