Stubbington Fish & Chips provides a mobile traditional fish & chip shop in a vintage trailer. Covering Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey & Berkshire.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a quote we need to start with the 4 W's, Where, When, What, Who.

Where - Where is the event being held, indoor, outdoor, the more information the better.... access can be tricky so always best to plan
When - Although the date my not be set in stone, its a good idea to have a timescale
What - What are you expecting, budgets vary, tastes change, every event differs, our job is to work with the organiser to create a experience.
Who - Who is the event for, we can tailor the set-up, service, menu , we just need to know

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Every customer should have confidence in the supplier they choose, after all, it's the customer's event. As a business we like to plan before the date either a wedding, party or festival. We are there to build relationships with customers and be seen and not heard, our job is to turn up, provide an experience and leave.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The vintage trailer was started by Ashley Young as a change from the norm of frying in Stubbington Fish & Chips for 16 years, with a love of engineering, creating new projects, frying and catering it was a new project and along with RGM Hopkins Leeds the trailer was designed and built. We have many years undertaking group orders from the shop, so it was the next step to take our fish & chips further afield...... however since its launch, Ashley is back frying in the shop as the staff all like going out on the trailer.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event initially provided us with our first event, a wedding! We have to thank the couple who had faith in us to deliver, we could have not asked for nicer people. It started with the initial contact and invited them to the shop to try the food, they were happy and booked us, the wedding guests were pleased with their choice shall we say, great feedback and happy, full guests, a great success.

Since then, Add to Event has provided a continuous stream of leads, some we take, some we don't but on the whole events of 80-120 meals come via Add to Event.
