About Toastmaster and Celebrant Paul Deacon

You can rely on me to look after you and your guests. Whether you want the assurance of a professional Toastmaster, the relaxed confidence of a modern event organiser, or a personal touch from an experienced Celebrant, I’m here to make your day flawless and stress-free.

I ensure everything runs smoothly — from the pace of your day to the flow of guests between spaces. I’ll bring order when it’s needed, warmth when it’s welcome, and calm when the unexpected happens. Your guests will feel cared for, whether they’re Royalty, corporate leaders, or loved ones giving their first speech.

After more than 30 years and over 1,000 events, I’ve learnt that every occasion is unique:

You usually know what you want — my job is to understand and deliver it your way.

The uniform might be traditional, but the approach doesn’t have to be.

I’m not the star of the show — my role is to make sure you shine.

Some days need careful management, others just gentle guidance — I adapt to both.

As a qualified Celebrant, I also create and lead personal, heartfelt ceremonies — from weddings and vow renewals to naming ceremonies and celebrations of life. Together we’ll craft words and moments that truly reflect who you are.

Formal or relaxed, traditional or modern — I’ll bring the same professional care, presence, and warmth to every event.

No panic. No pressure. No problem.

Our Story

I became a Toastmaster over 30 years ago, drawn to the art of creating seamless, memorable events where everyone feels looked after. From my very first event, I discovered a passion for helping people feel at ease, guiding guests and clients through the day so they can enjoy every moment without worry.

What inspires me most is seeing a day come together flawlessly — whether it’s a couple sharing their vows, a speaker captivating an audience, or a room of guests enjoying an elegant celebration. I’ve worked at over 1,000 events, from intimate ceremonies to high-profile banquets, and each one has taught me how to adapt, anticipate, and respond to every need.

Notably, I co-ordinated the Millennium Night celebrations in Monaco in the presence of HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, and have attended other dinners there with HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. I have also worked at events with several other members of the Royal Family, and I am recognised as a safe pair of hands — whether at a wedding, conference, charity event or award ceremony.

Over time, I expanded my role to include celebrant services, combining my organisational expertise with the ability to create deeply personal ceremonies. Today, I love helping couples, families, and organisations craft moments that are meaningful, joyful, and unforgettable. Every event is different, but the goal is always the same: to make people feel valued, supported, and able to celebrate fully.

Our Team

tm-photo-marquee-1.jpg
It’s just me — moi — your trusty Toastmaster, organiser, and celebrant. I like to think of myself as the calm at the centre of the whirlwind, ensuring every event flows smoothly while everyone else enjoys themselves.

I am delighted to be supported by my wonderful wife, who keeps me grounded, makes sure I don’t misplace my gavel - not that I use that often these days! She shares in my joy of helping our clients create unforgettable celebrations. Together, we make a great team, blending experience, warmth, and a touch of humour to ensure your day is perfect from start to finish.

Experience

I have spent over 30 years as a Toastmaster, blending organisation, ceremony, and performance to create seamless, memorable events for clients across the UK and abroad. One of my earliest assignments was a fundraising dinner at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, attended by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, several lords, and 600 guests — a high-profile start that set the tone for a career working at prestigious and diverse events.

Highlights from my career include:

Co-ordinating the Millennium Night celebrations in Monaco in the presence of HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, and attending other Monaco dinners with HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as events with other members of the Royal Family.

Supporting charities and raising thousands of pounds at dinners for HEART UK, the National Society for Epilepsy, UNICEF, Children in Crisis, and the Polish Ball.

Working internationally in embassies and consulates, including British, French, German, Japanese, and Singaporean, both at home and abroad.

Delivering a wide variety of events — from corporate conferences and bar mitzvahs to Masonic Ladies Festivals, celebrity engagements in the West End, and prestigious venues such as Guildhall, Mansion House, Livery Halls, Park Lane hotels, and the House of Commons.

Acting as a celebrant, creating meaningful, personal ceremonies that reflect each couple’s story, whether for weddings, vow renewals, or other milestone celebrations.

Taking part in memorable one-off events, including the launch of a Panamax vessel in Marseille, blessed with holy water, and countless bespoke ceremonies and celebrations.

I began my career as a Toastmaster because it allowed me to combine my passions for acting, directing a youth drama group, and singing as a solo chorister. Recognised as Buckinghamshire’s most experienced Toastmaster, I am known for my calm authority, versatility, and ability to make every event — from weddings to corporate galas — feel flawless and personal. Always learning, I even started exploring jazz drumming in 2022, bringing rhythm, creativity, and energy to everything I do.

Typical Clients

My clients include visionary couples planning weddings that reflect their personality and values; organisations hosting gala banquets, awards dinners or product launches; and families or community groups arranging naming ceremonies, anniversaries or milestone celebrations. Whether you’re inviting high‑profile guests alongside friends and family, or you’re looking for a relaxed, modern event rather than full formal ceremony — I work with you to ensure your guests feel looked after and your event runs smoothly, whatever the scale or style.

Types of Events & Client Situations

Weddings – from classic formality to relaxed, bespoke celebrations across faiths and cultures; clients include those wanting full ceremonial service (as celebrant) or simply someone to keep the day on track.

Corporate & Business Functions – companies needing a professional to welcome and guide VIPs, introduce speakers, manage timing, and add an elegant layer of service at dinners, launches or networking events.

Charity, Civic & Gala Events – organisations hosting fundraising dinners, award ceremonies or civic receptions; clients value someone who understands protocol, guest management and smooth flow.

Family Celebrations & Naming Ceremonies – clients looking for something more personal: naming ceremonies, vow renewals, anniversaries, smaller but meaningful gatherings where the tone matters as much as the timing.

Multicultural / Multi‑faith & Destination Events – clients who want someone experienced in a range of cultural traditions, who can adapt tone, etiquette and style to suit.

I'm a preferred supplier at Hedsor House and the Exclusive Collection of hotels.

I have officiated at over 1,000 events for British and international clients ranging from English, Jewish and Asian weddings to dinners and awards ceremonies from Los Angeles to Hong Kong and Singapore. I am highly experienced and am regularly seen at weddings of all faiths or civil ceremonies My schedule of events includes weddings of many faiths, dinners, charity events, awards ceremonies, Masonic Ladies Festivals, and bar mitzvahs.
