About Velvet Hospitality

Whether you’re planning a relaxed garden party, a private milestone celebration, a business launch, a staff Christmas party or a full wedding reception — we’ve got the right mobile bar solution for you.

Choose the style of service that fits your event, your budget, and the atmosphere you want to create. We have 2 beautiful Industrial 6ft and 9ft bars for hire, fantastic staff, glasses, bar equipment, back bar display, and fridges. You can dry hire our bars and equipment too! or we can supply everything and create a bespoke drinks menu including cocktails just for you.

We can also supply waiting staff and have a hugely experienced friendly team to help with all aspects of food and drink service.

We are a small independent family business and as such offer a very personal and tailor-made service. We have had 100% positive feedback on all platforms so far and have been operating for 10 years.

We are based in Sheffield but cover a 50-mile radius.

Our Story

I started my business (Hospitality House our previous name) in April 2016. After 20+ years in the event industry. My mission from day one was simple: to create a hospitality staffing company built on respect, loyalty and genuine care — a place that recognises people’s strengths, supports their growth and values real teamwork. A place where staff feel encouraged, motivated, and proud of the exceptional service they deliver. 2 years later we introduced our mobile bar services. Those early years were all about building a strong reputation without compromising our values. We focused on the private market, delivering countless weddings and events — something we still absolutely love today.

At heart, I’m a people-pleaser, a meticulous planner and incredibly hard working so running a business like this has always felt like the perfect fit for me!

Our Team

Hi my name is Kathryn, and I am a seasoned hospitality professional who believes deeply in authentic, traditional hospitality values.

Currently we have around 30 staff some of whom have been with me for 5+ years. We train all our staff in many areas of hospitality and bar work. We have on going contracts with the largest global event management company at some of the most prestigious event venues in the North.

Our purpose has always been to look after our people. We’re here to create a workplace where people feel supported, encouraged, and trusted — a team that grows together and takes pride in every event we deliver.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief: when you look after your people, they’ll give their best in return. That’s how we’ve built a team that feels more like a family, united by integrity, respect and the drive to make every moment count.

Experience

I studied and worked in London, Europe and the USA to learn my craft. And have a HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management. My passion for hospitality runs deep and I have been working in this industry for 3 decades I’m fascinated by the rich history of dining etiquette and love exploring the ever-evolving trends in food and drink. In 2025 after continued success we rebranded and reached out to one of the top branding companies in Sheffield who also did our website - check it out as it has a host of information, Testimonials and photos of what we do.

Typical Clients

We bring years of experience from weddings, corporate events and private parties — so we know how to run a bar and a hospitality team smoothly, professionally and with care. We also supply VIP staff to premium areas within race courses and large music stadiums. We carry out around 80+ events per year with a wealth of experience in the wedding sector.

Amazing, hard working staff

The staff from Hospitality House absolutely had everything in hand for my wedding which meant I could relax and enjoy the day. They were friendly and flexible and just made things happen! I would absolutely recommend Kathryn and her team for any event.

Over and beyond expectations

Do not hesitate to book Hospitality House. We had a huge party in our own home, and they made it special. The bar was beautiful, the food was excellent, and Kathryn and the Team worked endlessly, the whole evening to ensure everyone was catered for in a friendly, but professional manner. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The next morning they returned, just as cheerful as before, and cleared up quickly and efficiently. I would Hospitality House again.

Fantastic service, thank you

The service provided by Kathryn and the team was outstanding. From planning before the event, to preparation on the evening and then throughout the night. They not only managed the service on the bar but also cleared away all night. They made a really big difference to both our evening and also the clearing up operation the next day - so much easier! Thanks for making our evening so enjoyable.

Exactly what we wanted

We were largely catering our farm wedding ourselves, but thought we might need some extra pairs of hands to serve drinks, ferry food to tables and start the washing up. Kathryn from HH spoke to us extensively on the phone to determine exactly what we required (her expert council was very helpful), and then provided three members of staff for a very reasonable price. The staff themselves were positive and professional, remarkably so when you consider they were operating in an unfamiliar environment. When the plans went slightly awry and the dishwasher broke, the HH staff calmly found a workaround, allowing us to thoroughly enjoy the night. I would strongly recommend them for any similar event.
