What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote, we need your location, whether there is a kitchen facility at your intended venue and your estimated number of guests. We offer a range of menus and options but this key information will enable us to give you an estimated quote before we speak to you.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are planning a large scale event, most certainly you should ask the provider about their experience and the numbers they are used to catering for. There are many small businesses popping up all the time that won't have the experience or eye for detail that an experienced event manager will. For anyone looking at a food service you should check the hygiene rating and insurance too. We have been hosting afternoon tea parties for over decade now so have learnt an awful lot along the way, allowing you to feel in safe hands when you book with us.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I originally trained as a secondary school teacher of Art. I have always loved the vintage style alongside feeding people and baking. When I started my family I gave up working in schools and decided to see if there was a market for bringing afternoon tea to you. In 2010 I had created a basic website and started hosting vintage afternoon tea parties for four guests. I loved sourcing and collecting all my beautiful vintage china as my bookings increased through word of mouth. I soon began hosting weddings and larger events which then scaled to the business that I have today with a team of 15. I still love creating the whole event, building rapport with my customers and now hosting vintage afternoon tea parties for up to 350 guests.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had several bookings through this platform, mainly life celebrations and funerals. Our most recent event was reviewed here last weekend. The more experience I have running this business, the more I see that our customers want to feel in safe hands. They want to feel confident that we genuinely care about the work that we do and that we will absolutely offer the service we promise. We do, every time.
