What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For a full quote, we need to understand your needs/aims so we can provide the most appropriate equipment for the task. If you have a band or a DJ, or just want to plug your phone in, we can supply you with the ideal setup.
Further to this, we need to know how many will want to hear the PA/Speakers at once (sometimes it's not the same as the number of guests!), whether the event is indoor or outdoor, the event location, the start and finish timings. We're always happy to provide a provisional quote and update it as circumstances change.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are a lot of cowboys and amateurs in the world of audio, and hiring one always ends badly. Consequences range from harsh sounding music that hurts your guests' ears, to extremely dangerous use of electrical equipment. A professional audio company will ask a lot of questions to make sure the job is done properly, the equipment provided will be of extremely high quality (a huge difference in sound quality), and all power and cables will be handled safely.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Last year we had a few great events through Add to Event from weddings and birthday parties to festivals and charity events. For one of the weddings last year, we brought out our Martin Audio PA system and a small lighting setup for the dance floor, and all they needed was a cable to plug a phone in and play music off a playlist. Who needs a DJ when you and your friends can choose every song!
