What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

I can get straight back to you with a quote if you let me know the approx location of the party, date/time and what kind of event you are holding, eg. Birthday Party. If you can write in the description what kind of entertainment you are looking for, and it's also helpful to know if you have any entertainment booked already so I can suggest what I can offer that would best suit your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Word of mouth is a valuable tool, and I pride myself on these recommendations. If you are seeking an entertainer online, check their reviews and testimonials to make sure they are the right fit for you. Also, ask lots of questions, I feel like those who are passionate about what they do are happy to work with you to make sure they are the right entertainer to match your event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

It was a very organic start to becoming Mr Twists, I didn't have any real knowledge or interest in balloon twisting or entertainment, I started twisting balloons when I worked in a ticket booth at a nightclub with some balloons from the Poundshop! My first booking was for the children of a member of security staff, and then I carried on with word-of-mouth recommendations, eventually making a website, social media etc. Before doing this, I have had loads of different jobs, I worked as a care home activities person, a forklift driver and ran a fudge company! However, this has now been my full-time job as a self-employed entertainer since September 2021 and I haven't looked back since!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has netted me a few bookings on top of the ones I get through my own channels. I feel that the service works well as I consider any bookings are an added bonus and more than cover the credits.

I was recently booked for a children's party at a house in Grantham, and it was excellent. The parents were so friendly and accommodating, and all the kids were receptive to the balloons and games!

When customers who are outside of the area I cover enquire to me directly, I refer them to Add To Event to find a skilled entertainer that is closer to home.
