What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To be able to provide an accurate and most fair quote to a customer I always ask for a few simple details about the event. I think keeping it to just a little information helps keep the experience for the customer a lot simpler, easier and quicker. These for me include the event date or a rough date, the kind of venue they are planning on holding their event in, the number of guests they expect to be attending and the age range.
Combining all these details together means we can make sure not only do we provide the most accurate quote, but also the show and package we are offering is the right one for their audience.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would always encourage the customer to look at previous customer opinions. Word of mouth and recommendations from my customers is certainly very important to me and makes me feel very proud reading them.
I think its always a good idea to look at some video footage also. Most good entertainers will have things such as a YouTube channel where they can showcase their talents.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My love for magic started when I was a young boy. I remember seeing a children's entertainer at a family friend's wedding and enjoying it much more than any of the other kids! The magic man got me up onto the stage and from that point on I was hooked. When I was just a kid, no matter where we were when I was out with my parents, I would always find a magic set and nag at them to buy for me. Magic sets turned into books, books into videos and DVDs, and before long I was performing close up magic tricks to audiences of my mum and dad's friends and colleagues.
This soon evolved into one of the many stage shows I perform today.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I certainly recommend using Add to Event. It has made the advertising side of my business so much easier because I can source my customers from one place. This means I get to spend more time with my family.
The customer and provider relationship are able to grow because of the tools on the website. I also think it's so much easier being able to save the customer content in one place. My new favourite tool though has to be being able to block out certain dates in the diary.
