What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
All we need to provide a comprehensive quote for a customer is the date the event takes place, the number of guests attending and what they would like us to serve their guests on the day.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Number one, always look for a website - any decent provider will have a web site, Two, look at the quality of the web site as it's a reflection of their business. Three, check out their verified customer reviews! Finally, speak to them and ask questions because a decent provider will be happy to answer any question - usually with a lot of enthusiasm and passion for what they do. If they are a bit lackluster or reticent in their answers - buyer beware!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Suffolk Pig Roast was created out of the love for simplicity, great taste and fantastic design - prompted by the lack of simplicity, great taste and design I found in the providers marketing themselves as Hog Roasts. I had been at too many events where cheap buns of bland tasting pork, pre-packed coleslaw and salads were being served up from a drab-looking gazebo. If it was my party, event or wedding I would want something that looked professional and cool. It was my party, so I did it myself and thus Suffolk Pig Roast was born!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I am really happy with this platform. I have a steady stream of potential customers that I pick and choose to quote for. The first event through Add to Event has to be my most memorable. The customer decided to use us "although, we were not the cheapest provider". The event was his wife's 60th so there was no room for error! The evening was fantastic, so many lovely compliments about set up and of course the food. The review couldn't have been better, I smiled as I read the first line "not the cheapest provider, but definitely the best" - he even mentioned that we prepared all the salads from scratch in the on-site kitchen. I have recommended this site to all my friends looking for providers and my colleagues with businesses I think would benefit from marketing on here.
