What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide an accurate quote I need to know the date, location, length of the booking and how many performers.
Without this information, I can only give a vague idea of costs (I once gave a quote then found out it was 300 miles away!)
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find out who they are and where they've performed, how long have they been entertaining for. Do they have a current DBA and public liability insurance?
Can they give reviews that can be checked out (To make sure they are genuine)
Have they got any Youtube videos or a website with videos and photos?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started my business by accident! My kids loved face painting so I bought some paints to save myself a bit of money (I have 6 kids) people said I was good and kept asking me to their kids parties. Soon an agent saw me and started to book me then I expanded into magic. Again people liked my style and now 35 years later I'm a fully professional entertainer for both children and adults and have been lucky enough to have worked on many cruise ships, abroad and in most types of venues.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Now that's a hard question... I've had so many great bookings but the one I enjoyed most was at a public house/restaurant that was having a reopening after a fire. I was able to perform my magic to the passing trade of both children and adults as well as balloon models and glitter tattoos. Everyone was great and even the staff were enthralled. The restaurant invited me to stay for a meal at the end and are rebooting me for their Christmas celebrations.
