Based in Stockport, KoalaKoffee is a mobile coffee van company that provide service to the Cheshire area. Supplying speciality coffee and hot drinks, they cater for a variety of events from parties, to weddings, carnivals and corporate functions.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to provide any potential client a detailed quote I would look for the following; Date of the event, how many guests/attendees will be at the event, venue, where the event is held (indoor/outdoor) any extras the client would like (biscuits, branded items i.e stand or cups). These are the key things I would look for then I can give any potential client a real detailed breakdown of my quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I almost certainly would ask the following; What kind of coffee they use and where it originates from. If what they offer on their menu is ethnically sourced. There are certain drinks on a menu that if made correctly will show a barista's knowledge or lack of as anyone can make a latte or an americano. Can they do any latte art? Always nice to have a drink served with passion and care and latte art does show this. Finally I would ask what kind of equipment they use; can their equipment cope with making multiple drinks at once? Finally, what kind of grinder they use - as this will determine coffee freshness.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started up KoalaKoffee because of my love of making coffee and meeting new people. I have worked in coffee for numerous years - managing different outlets and each time I have enjoyed the knowledge and process behind coffee making! So I decided to start up my own coffee business. I love explaining to my clients and customers about my coffee and why I make my coffee the way I do. It's always a joy to see how interested everyone is, and to see their reaction when tasting the coffee too.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only been on this site for a number of months and had 2 bookings and more to come next year, but both of my bookings were fantastic. The process of receiving the quote, to me sending one back is so simple. The feedback and reviews I have had for both my events have been staggering, especially how much everyone enjoyed my service and coffee. I love it when I get an email through to say someone has submitted a request and then being able to reply. When I'm asked about if I know people that do this or do that I always point them in the direction of Add to Event as it's a fantastic website and I love it. Its certainly helped me get my name out there, and long may it continue!
