What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide an accurate quote to a customer, we need the event date, event location, and a brief description of the event type. Knowing the budget has always been beneficial so we can provide a list of options or suggest alternatives. Mood boards and photos are also a huge help.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's always a good idea to read feedback from prior customers. This can give you a good idea of the level of service you'll get at your event. Suppliers are always happy to supply numerous options to suit your theme and budget if you're unclear what decorations you'll need.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Amy Walton, the founder of Walton Crafts and Events, discovered her passion for planning, organising, and decorating venues when preparing her rustic barn wedding with her now-husband, Garry, during the height of Covid-19. The quantity of inquiries and emails Amy had to send just to find out hire costs and availability was one item Amy found tough when arranging the "Walton Wedding." She discovered that most companies raised their prices when she said "wedding"! "Walton Crafts and Events" was in the works... an event rental company that would provide as much information as possible, including set pricing (whether for a wedding or not!) and availability to allow customers to book at any time of day or night that they found themselves party planning!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We can definitely recommend Add to Event, and they have helped us secure some amazing engagements. Our most recent event, in which we transformed a village hall into a fairy woodland, was our favourite. The venue looked beautiful, with everything from wood slices to fairy lights, many balloon displays, and a themed dessert table, and we received rave reviews from our customer and her guests which topped it all off.
