With this experience comes some good advice on choosing a DJ for your event so read on to find out more!
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a comprehensive quote to a client, I require an event date, a brief description of the event, timings, location and any special requests. This will allow me to accurately supply the quote as well as the chance to offer any suggestions that might help or improve the event for the client.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice would be to have a discussion with the provider, ask about their experience and what they can offer that others cannot.
Don't just go for the cheapest quote – this seems tempting, but a more expensive quote from a supplier maybe for a reason – more experience and better equipment are usually the main reasons. Discuss the quote with the supplier, ask why it's more than others – if they have the experience, they should be able to answer this question.
Ask the provider for advice. They having probably been doing this a long time and may be able to help with your planning and ideas.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I had a passion for music from childhood. Making mix-tapes turned into DJing at friends parties on my dodgy belt has driven turntables to DJing at weddings, corporate gigs, celebrations, bars and clubs (with much better equipment!)
My aim at every event I do is to create a great atmosphere and keep everyone happy and dancing all night! I love the buzz of seeing the crowd having a good time and put 100% into every event I do.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I was booked by a client for a wedding through Add to Event. Prior to the event, I kept in communication with the client, making sure I had all their music requests and also made sure I wouldn't play anything they didn't want.
On the night they had a great time – people were dancing all night, and at the end, the bride and groom thanked me for a great evening and said they wouldn't hesitate to recommend me to anyone wanting a DJ in the future.
This is the kind of feedback I regularly get from clients of my events. Hopefully, this will continue for a long time to come...
