What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide the best quote, we require the event date, a start time, hours of service required, the type of event being hosted and the potential venue. This will enable us to use our expertise to consider whether we can fulfil your requirements.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would recommend talking to the DJ and asking them about the type of work they have done before. I would also ask whether they have got all of their documentation in good order. This is often a sign of whether the service provider is professional in their approach. As a minimum, there should be adequate insurance cover and all their equipment should be PAT tested to ensure they meet industry standard and safe for use in a public environment.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I had grown up listening to all types of music and had built a big collection prior to the introduction of MP3's! My first party was a family event. From that day, I received my first official booking and saw an opportunity to work and play. I love music and sharing it with others. It also gives me the flexibility to go to the clients and meet a whole host of different people.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I only recently started using Add to Event and so far it has been brilliant. As a small business, I have found it a great way to identify potential customers for periods where I have availability. Instead of waiting for a call that never comes, I can pick from the potential clients that I feel I can assist most on the dates that I can do. I have not yet completed an event from this platform, but I have several due to take place in coming months so I will keep you informed. I will say, the process is easy and would recommend it to anyone who runs their own events based business.
