What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, there are a number of key components. We need the type of event and the hours we would be required for. The venue is key as well as that dictates the size and scale of the setup we can provide. Set-up time is key. Can we get early access to the venue? At JRC we also offer unlimited pre-event meetings to ensure our client's needs are fully understood - So the ability to meet up prior to any event is key.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The biggest challenge for mobile DJs is making sure that the music being played is what the customer wants. That's why we insist on pre-event meetings. Professional DJs have the ability to read the room so don't worry too much - It's our job to make sure that people are having a great time - but if there is stuff you definitely want to hear don't be afraid to ask! Make sure your DJ has full public liability insurance and check out any reviews to ensure they meet your requirements. If possible visit any public events prior to booking them.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

JRC Entertainment was founded in 2022. After spending 20 years DJing in and around Worcestershire, working mainly for agencies, I decided to go it alone and set up myself, Ive really enjoyed the social media side of promoting my own business, and building up my own client bank. As it's always been though, the music is my passion, being able to share this passion with the public through events is why i started this business. I love seeing people have a good time and enjoying the music I play.
