What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide any quotation to a client, we ideally need the following. The date of the event, the location and venue details (especially noting if the venue has access issues), the type of event, any special stipulations or requests and the number of hours required. We are then able to take into consideration any travelling and set up times and all other factors in relation to the event. Once this is complete, we are able to discuss any additional options with the client and give them a comprehensive quote and answer any additional questions they may have.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always do your homework! Planning any event can be a stressful task and all too often we hear disaster stories when the clients planned and booked, entertainment is a terrible letdown. Occasionally we're told that the client wishes they hadn't 'scrimped' on their entertainment budget and booked the cheapest or they hadn't realised that they could also get great deals by booking multiple "extras" from the same supplier. Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Stevie Robb entertainments have evolved as a natural progression from over 40 years of working within the mobile disco, bar & club and entertainment industries. Over the years I have constantly listened to my clients, venue managers and peers as to what they look for a insist on when choosing a supplier, so bearing all their comments in mind I decided to create the company to be able to put together complete packages or individual services that meet their expectations. I always endeavour to focus on each event at its core and always endeavour to go 'that extra mile' to ensure the client is always more than satisfied with everything I do to help make their event a success.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My first event through this platform was a 30th Birthday Party in Gillingham for someone who had been let down last minute. Dealing primarily with the Birthday guys girlfriend was easy through Add to Event and to say I was happy to help is an understatement & the party was fantastic. An out and out birthday party and we had so much fun with a great crowd who couldn't get enough of the cheesy music requested and I have been privileged to have been asked to play at their Wedding in 2020.
