What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For myself to give a comprehensive quote I would need to know the date of the event, number of people attending, length of time required for the performance, type of event (whether it is a sit down meal or a walk round drinks reception etc), and the venue (where it is etc). With these details, I can quote a tailor made performance for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask for a video, preferably from a similar event (not a video that has been done in a studio). Ask the magician if they cater for all ages, the last thing you want is a magician that only does adult style magic at an event where there is a lot of children. Ask about previous clients, to see if the magician has worked events similar to yours before.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I became a professional magician after spending many years doing it as a hobby for family and friends. My name got around to friends of friends and eventually became busy enough to take magic as a full time job.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had a lot of enquiries through Add to Event, one of my favourites was a private surprise party for a gentleman's wife's birthday. The atmosphere at the party was fantastic, the guests were all up for a laugh, I enjoyed every minute working at this event. The client at first was hesitant that it would work for such a small crowd, but the reviews form his guests were fantastic, so much so I have had more work from that one event.
