What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide a more accurate comprehensive quote, we would need to know the type of event you would like us to organize and also the date and rough times if its a birthday we would also require the age (this is very important). Number of people attending and whether the event will be held indoors. Do you require entertainment and if so type of entertainment and are caters required.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly look at the previous work they have carried out, look at reviews or ask if they have any testimonials from previous clients. How much experience do they have, organising events can get very stressful and on the day of the event stress levels can rise if any issues pop up. A more experienced events manager will keep their composure and deal with the matter at hand if one arises. How much of their time can they give you leading up to the event, the last thing you want is an event manager that is overbooked and can only respond to you once a week or can only give your event little planning time. You need an event manager who you can stay in contact with from the start to the end.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

It's a very long story to how we started Devoted Events Management. Firstly we were originally called Devoted Promotions. Long story short we started in 2005, I and some friends got together to organise my birthday party at a popular nightclub venue. We hired out the venue, booked DJs, decorated the venue and invited guests. Over 800 people turned out, the general manager was so impressed that he asked me to do another and that's where it all started from. After the 3rd event, we started to realise that we are actually good at this. Since 2005 we have organised, music seminars, concerts, festivals, private parties, corporate events, charity events and sporting events. We have also worked with many celebrities from artist to actors and TV reality celebs.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We've not had a booking with Devoted Events Management as we have only just signed up our events business to this platform. But our Devoted Deluxe mobile bar business has had a high number of events booked through Add to Event. One booking we had was booked with us the day before the wedding, the previous bar they had booked let them down last minute. 300 people, table wines, reception drinks and 600 glassware. They were amazed that we pulled all that off in such short notice because on the day of them calling us, we had no wines or prosecco in stock for their tables and reception drinks, not only that we do not stock our own glassware we always hire in. Summertime is the worse time to hire in glassware at short notice but we managed to find a local supplier to them who had plenty in stock. We've been with Add to Event since 2016 and it's also the only platform we use because the other events platforms could not compare to Add to Event in many ways.
