What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a client ideally we need to know the date of your event, approximately how many guests you are considering and what you need from us, for example; do you need us to find a venue, catering and entertainment? If you have any idea of the type of venue you would like to mention this, but if not it's not a problem, that's why we are here! Would you like us in attendance on the day to ensure the smooth running of the event? Please don't feel overwhelmed by this, we are here to advise and guide you so can chat to you about what would be best for you before we get down to a quote. We are full of ideas to creatively approach your event, to provide you with the best value all around.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, ask the planner the type of events they work on, some are generic and work across a broad spectrum of events, and some planners specialise in a particular area. Your planner should be able to advise and guide you on how to approach your event.
As event managers & planners we are all here to remove the stress from you, so make sure you pick someone who communicates quickly and effectively, you want to be able to relax knowing that your event is in good hands! And finally, this is probably the most important one, remember that your personal event should reflect your personality so pick someone that you like! You should feel a good rapport with the planner and enjoy discussing your day. We are here to remove the stress and make this fun for you!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
As the creators of H Squared Events, we have been in the events industry for over 15 years, creating everything from large corporate conferences, brand launches and drinks receptions, through to amazing exclusive birthday parties and weddings. We have also been friends for 35 years, so decided to set up our own company working on this together.
We wanted to create a company which brings a much more sustainable approach to Event Planning. We work with local suppliers, and for each planning client we will make either a sustainable or humanitarian donation, we will plant a tree via the Woodland Trust to offset carbon footprint, or provide clean drinking water to a family in Cambodia via Just a Drop, this is a donation from us, but we ask each client which donation they would prefer us to make.
Most importantly, we are here to remove all the stress of event planning from you!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had lots of activity through our Add to Event account. Even as newcomers we have had several bookings, but as we all know what 2020 has been like we have sadly not been able to conduct any events just yet. However we are really excited to say we have some weddings confirmed, we are honoured to be part of our couples day and can't wait to get back to face to face events!
